Radon Control Services
What is Radon?
Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless, naturally occurring gas that comes from decaying radioactive material. The central Upper Peninsula of Michigan is a moderate exposure zone with certain areas known for high concentrations.
The EPA estimates that 1 in 15 homes have elevated levels of radon, above the EPA recommended action level of 4 pc/l.
Testing Services
Radon Testing is inexpensive and is recommended to all home buyers at time of home inspection. If a home tests with elevated levels, a radon mitigation system can be installed at a moderate cost.
Home Evaluation Services is certified by the NRPP (National Radon Proficiency Program) for both radon resting and mitigation. HES is also certified by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA).

Working From Home Puts Potential for Deadly Radon Gas in the Spotlight
As people seek to stay safe at home, they also need to be aware of the potential in-home hazard presented by radon — a cancer-causing odorless, colorless, and tasteless gas.
MI Environment, the online publication of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, today featured an article that highlights the dangers of the deadly gas in an era of working from home.
